Fearless Women of Dirt women’s mountain bike community was established in 2015 in Decorah, Iowa by Josie Smith. With the help of FWD Ambassadors, the Fearless Women of Dirt community has expanded into other regions including: Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. 

Fearless Women of Dirt [FWD] is open to anyone of any ride experience level. It's a network of women from all over who want to help encourage and inspire other women to find their mountain #bikelife. It’s designed to be a supportive, safe, and encouraging environment for women, trans, and gender non-conforming folks to come together to ride. We support each other and build each other up, celebrating our successes and working past fears or insecurities one may find when learning to ride off-road.
